Jan RobinsonJan Robinson had a career in Midwifery Education for many years then branched out into independent practice in the early 1990s, attending homebirths mostly in the southern suburbs of Sydney, New South Wales, where she lived. She now maintains a small clinical practice in the inner Sydney city area while continuing to be involved in midwifery education on a casual basis. She is National Coordinator for the Australian Society of Independent Midwives. Jan's additional projects for the New Year 2008 are to complete writing her booklet on “Setting up an Independent Midwifery Practice in Australia,” revitalise the Australian Society of Independent Midwives Web site and to meet with an many like-minded home birth midwives as possible at the ICM in Glasgow.
